Your worker's week

How the figures are worked out

  1. The accommodation offset from April 2026 is £11.10 a day, £77.70 for a full week.
  2. If the room is free, the offset is added to the worker's pay for minimum wage purposes.
  3. If the charge is more than the offset, the difference is taken off the worker's pay for minimum wage purposes. A charge at or below the offset makes no difference.
  4. Minimum wage pay is then compared with the hours worked times the worker's minimum rate.
  5. Accommodation is the only benefit that counts. Meals, uniform and tips do not.
